Established in 1979, Neil’s Steels are one of the leading specialists in structural steel and bespoke architectural fabrication in the UK. For more than 40 years we have supplied the South East and beyond with an extensive range of projects for a diverse scope of clients.
We are a family run business based in Brighton & Hove. From humble beginnings in 1979 to growing to a team of 25 employees, owner, Neil Dermott has expanded the business to what it is today. Following in their fathers footsteps, Scott and Glen Dermott now both run the day to day operations across our two sites, Partridge Green and Portslade. As a family we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the steel industry which has helped us establish ourselves as one of the leading steel fabricators in the South East as well as gaining a loyal customer base along the way.
Rory is a CAD drawing expert and assists with finding the best prices from our suppliers. In his spare time Rory likes to bake bread, go snowboarding and see live music.
Stan is currently completing his level 2 apprenticeship at our Portslade site and learning all the skills needed to work in the industry. In his spare time, Stan enjoys playing football and socialising.
Callum is junior welder/fabricator in our Partridge Green workshop, he is learning the skills needed to work with steel. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and shooting.
Colin is our delivery driver and spends his days delivering our steels safely and on time to our customers as well as operating the crane for Hiab lifts. In his spare time, Colin enjoys socialising, cooking and travelling.
Jack looks after our Portslade workshop, spending his days welding and fabricating as well as attending site visits to assist with installations. In his spare time Jack enjoys spending time with his family.
Connie looks after our website, social media, marketing and SEO. In her spare time she likes cooking and going to the beach.
Charlie works at our Partridge Green site, priming and painting customer orders and likes organising the yard to make sure everything is ready for the deliveries and collections. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys socialising with friends, walking his dog and playing football.
Iona works at our Portslade site. Her duties focus on HR management and vehicle management as well as general administrative tasks. In her spare time, Iona likes to cook and go to festivals although currently, she is busy working on the house she recently bought!
Jaidan joined us as an Apprentice Welder/Fabricator at our Portslade site. He is currently working towards his Level 2 Apprenticeship and with the guidance of our experts, will become fully qualified in 2025. During his spare time, Jaidan likes to go fishing and play football.
Tom works in our Portslade workshop, welding and fabricating steel ready for delivery. As a former Ski Instructor, Tom enjoys going skiing in his spare time and playing his playstation 5.
Ben is a welder/fabricator at our Partridge Green site and enjoys the variation that comes with the role. He has recently moved down from Sheffield so he is finding his feet in the area!
Mike is a welder/fabricator in our Partridge Green workshop and loves creating the orders for our customers. At the weekend he enjoys spending time with his family and going bowling.
Corey works at our Partridge Green site and is just starting his Level 2 Apprenticeship. He will be guided by our experts to learn all aspects of steel fabrication in the hope of becoming a fully qualified Welder/Fabricator. During his spare time, Corey enjoys socialising with his friends and running.
Ewan works at our Partridge Green site and has just begun his Level 2 Apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication. His favourite thing about his role is learning new skills. Outside of work, Ewan likes to follow football and spend time with his family and friends.
Rian is our Partridge Green workshop assistant and forklift operator. In his spare time Rian coaches football and enjoys spending time with his friends.
